How Exercise Reduces Your Risk Of Cancer?

April 25, 2022

Cancer is a frightening disease that is responsible for the deaths of millions of people every year. However, it is possible to reduce your risk of cancer by making healthy lifestyle choices, including exercise. This week Activ8 Recreation Center would like to share with you some facts about how exercise protects against cancer.

Lowering the levels of hormones, such as estrogen, could encourage breast cells to divide more often. If cells divide too much and grow out of control this can lead to cancer. Keeping a healthy weight and doing lots of activity can reduce the levels of estrogen and insulin in the body, this could help to prevent breast cancer.

Preventing high blood levels of insulin, which has to do with fat, especially the fat around your waist and organs. If you are insulin resistant, you are more likely to create fat cells and not be able to break down fat cells. The resulting weight gain, inflammation, and hormone disruptions raise your risk for up to 13 types of cancer.

Reducing inflammation. Inflammation is a normal way our bodies respond to damage. But if there’s too much, it can cause our cells to multiply more often, increasing cancer risk. Keeping a healthy weight reduces the risk of 13 cancer types. One of the reasons for this is that having less body fat can reduce inflammation levels around the body. It’s also possible that being very active helps prevent bowel cancer directly by reducing levels of inflammation in the bowel.

Boosting the immune system. Being very active can give your immune system a boost, which makes it work more effectively. This means the body gets better at spotting cells that could go on to become cancer. It can then remove these cells before they cause harm.

Altering the metabolism of bile acids, decreases exposure of the gastrointestinal tract to these suspected carcinogens.

Reducing the time it takes for food to travel through the digestive system, decreases gastrointestinal tract exposure to possible carcinogens

Helping to prevent obesity, which is a risk factor for many cancers

That is an important advice. Thanks a lot. Most of us know what and why we need exercise, but we have no bid a how to apply it. Is there any advice for us?
